Dr Ndoba Vibetti

Chairman


Ndoba Vibetti is a geologist with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree from the University of Western Ontario in Canada (UWO), and extensive field experience in southern Africa, the Middle East and North America. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits).

In April 2005 he joined the IDCs Mining and Beneficiation Strategic Business Unit. Prior to the IDC, Ndoba worked at Standard Bank and ABN Amro. At the IDC, Ndoba has worked on various project finance transactions mainly in the mining industry, involving both equity and debt funding.


Ignatius de Wet

Managing Director

In 1993, after completing a 3-year national diploma with distinction in Ceramic Technology at the Technical University of Tshwane, Ignatius de Wet started his career as Ceramic Technologist in the R&D division of Cullinan Refractories. At the time, he was the youngest Technologist appointed in the field of refractory engineering. Ignatius accepted a technical sales position at Ferro Enamels in 1996 and was promoted to business development manager of the company in 1997. He then obtained a BCom Marketing / Finance degree (part time) during 1997 at the University of Pretoria and also obtained a Masters degree in Business Leadership (MBL) from UNISAs Graduate School of Business Leadership in 2001, specializing in technology commercialisation.

In 1998 he joined a group of scientists working on zirconium technology at the University of Pretoria, and is the founder of Geratech Zirconium Beneficiation Ltd. Under his leadership, the knowledge contained in several entities that had invested in zirconium technology were consolidated into a commercially-driven project at NECSA. Ignatius was central in the development of zirconium products, the process technology and the commercialization of zirconium beneficiation. This included crucial supply relations and establishment of international markets and Technology development agreements with niche customers. He was also instrumental in attracting international investors to commercialize zirconium beneficiation technology in SA.


Per Eriksson

Marketing Director

Per Eriksson started his career as a successful businessman and entrepreneur after completion of a Master of law/Economics degree at the University of Stockholm, Sweden in 1988. Gaining experience across a diverse industrial spectrum including technology companies and real estate businesses in Stockholm, he relocated to Belgium during 1992, seeking new opportunities.

Per started ZMC, an international multi-million dollar Zircon and mineral beneficiation business and was responsible for the chemical division.

In 2001 Per became involved in Geratech after the acquisition of 24% of the holding company. Since then, Per played a vital role in the financing, marketing and distribution activities of Geratech.


Philip Ingham

Non Executive Director

Philip represents TIA on the Board. His background is in Chemical Engineering and he also has a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) qualification. He has 20 years of industry experience working for the SI Group, 16 of which as its Managing Director in South Africa. SI Group is a family-owned, American Chemical Company with a global foot print (www.siigroup.com). Philip’s involvement over the years has touched on many areas, including several global roles; these include:

• Expanding the local business through organic growth, acquisitions and by increasing the Company’s export footprint
• Part of a team working on our China growth strategy, including building a second plant in China
• Setting up a tolling agreement for our China affiliate
• Part of the initial team that investigated a successful acquisition in India
• Part of a team working on our India growth strategy
• Part of a team looking at expansion opportunities in Eastern Europe
• Responsible for Environmental Health and Safety in our Asia Region (10 sites)


Dr Steven Mann

Non Executive Director

Steven Mann worked for MEL Chemicals for 15 years, breaking this service to undertake a PhD in Papermaking at Manchester University. MEL is the worlds leading innovator and manufacturer of zirconium chemicals and oxides. He gained his PhD in papermaking in 1982. The paper industry is one of the largest consumers of reactive zirconium chemicals.

Between 2000 and 2003 he relocated to China and became Vice General Manager of Astron Advance Materials, now Chinas largest exporter of high quality zirconium chemicals.

Steven has been an independent consultant since 2003, dividing his time between troubleshooting in the zirconium chemicals industry and training in the Paper & Board Industry.

Steven is a part-time lecturer in Papermaking at Bury College in the UK and Deputy Chairman of the Paper Industry Technical Associations Coating Working Group in the UK.

Steven serves as Non Executive Director (Technical) and resides in the UK.
